I'm the guy in China that bought the 51 Commodore. Picture attached.

Sorry about exporting it but my 51 Hornet was flooded a few years ago by a typhoon storm tide and, despite all my efforts, I was unable to save it from rusting. All parts were removed and washed, they are fine. But powering washing and spraying the body and interior with two part epoxy marine primer did not prevent internal "cancer". When the front fender fell off I had to, reluctantly, give up. A sad picture attached.

I have had a stepdown in my life since 1951 when I acquired a 48 brougham. It just didn't feel right not having one so, after a lot of internet searching, I bought the 51 Commodore. It will be stored in a raised garage made from two 20' containers welded together and electrically de-humidified.

All is not lost, any Hudsonites visiting Zhuhai, China, are welcome to go for a spin. As far as I know this is the only Hudson in the country.

  • Thanks, Bill, for the nice message. When I was trying to restore the old 51 I actually purchased a used interior from you. I'm guessing mid ninety's.

I was a long time member of the HET club. However, very high postage rates to China combined with disgust over the board's treatment of Jack Miller ended our association. I'll check into re-joining.
