How many teeth does the speedometer gear of a 1950 Commodore 6 with overdrive have , (That 'HAD' supermatic) ? According to all my manuals, it soposed to have a 4:55 rear end. I have a bunch of speedometer gears, but I don't know which one! The original one was plundered by a previous owner. Cheers!

Thank you! I'll go through my collection of speedometer gears, and count the teeth! Hopefully, I have that one!0

The number on the correct gear is 448296.0

I have the 448296 gear in my 49 Super Six and will swap it for a 448299.

Found an 18 tooth gear, and the number is #SW448217; Also two 15 tooth gears # SW10485. Also have a '51 Hornet that I put a 3.07 rear end in it, with stick and overdrive. Can a speedometer gear be put in, that would be accurate? Could not find number #448296 gear. Found some older wider gears, with a #21 stamped on the sides.0
