twin h heat riser
Hi there, not been around on the forum for quite a while-windows 95! Sometimes this new tech stuff is okay.
Fooling with a 54 HH and it has twin H. Cannot get it to run correctly when warm. Noticed the spring on the heat riser is missing. Have several 232 and 262 engines to compare with. Apparently the metal hanger is missing, but cannot figure out what to hook anything to!
Master parts catalog and manual have not been helpfull, and being dumb as a brick, perhaps one of you could offer assistance. Hudsonly, Dennis. plane@terracom.net

Dennis, The Spring inner flat is attached to a slot in the shaft of the Heat riser then there should be a small pin, about One and a half inches long just beyond the outside diameter of the spring (mine is on the side towards the fender) and the hook on the end of the spring should fit over it. If you don't see it look very carefully because it has probably broken off.

I have a related question. When reinstalling it, how "tightly" do you wind the spring before hooking it onto the pin? Are there any guidelines about this? Thanks.
