Here's a little eye-candy for those contemplating the front floor pan replacement.

If Ken Aman is still making them they are worth every penny - NOTE: how close the pattern is!

Now for an evening of smoke and fire :D

Ahhh come on...what's not to like about a little rusty ol' Hudson?
    • NEVER being clean while working on your car
    • Constantly picking rust out of your eyes, ears, nose.
    • Endless hours of rust repairs, micro-grinding, flash-burn and noise - just to fix something no one will ever see.
    • Realizing that no matter what you do...it (sic rust) WILL come back!
    • Priceless!

These floor pans do fit real nice.It really isn't that hard to put these in.As Rambo describes"how close they really are"makes this job relatively easy. The most time it takes me is making the proper cuts of the old pan.The original design had the outside edge turned downward. On this edge,I cut the old pan, leaving a 1 inch lip, same with the back, rear cut.Leaving a 1inch lip gives you a reference when installing your new pan.If you look close enough, you can see the spot welds where it meets the hump at the center.Drill these out to free the sheet metal pieces.Make sure to leave enough of the original pan when making the horizontal cut at the top.Remember, you can always cut more off,but have to weld more in.Some may require additional work, like Rambo's on the rear. All are rusted in some way different,so take your time on this easy repair.Once either side is removed, lay your new pan in and cut-to-fit.This sounds like alot of work but can be done in an afternoon.
