1952 Wasp convertible, that's what I'd like to find.0

Right ON Hudson Dad....
Charlie Harris of Nebraska used to have an original 52 Wasp Convert... he sold it ... I was just amazed... but then again that was in the early 70s and I did not have the few thousand dollars it brought either.... My 52 Wasp Hollywood was next best... but someone else wanted it more... Capitalism took over...0 -
How many Wasp Conv't could be out there ? I think they're neat....0

I remember that episode. At one point, Shirley was having Laverne practice in their living room using cans for the pedals. Laverne said it would be easier to remember if they used the can of beans for the "gas":D0 -

Yes, he's been meaning to get to it the last 20 years! Look him up in the roster and try and pry it away!0 -
There are two 52 Wasp convertibles in Michigan. I have the one that Charlie Harris sold. My Dad bought it. At that time it had 99,000 miles on it. It now has 170,000 miles. The engine had a cracked block at 133,000 and was replaced with a crate narrow block 262. I think the trans is original but had to be rebuilt in LA when it went out on the way to the meet there. My Dad drove that car to a number of the National meets. The other one in Michigan, I haven't seen. It's in a barn someplace. There was one for sale in Colorado several months ago. I don't know if it sold, but there was a thread on this board0

LarryB, Is this the black one that was at the Pittsburgh National?0 -
Charlies old car is Black and has been at many national meets since sale. I did not attend Pittsburg. The Maroon 52 for sale in colorado is / was John Sonoff's car.
I will call Charlie A., he has had many cars over the years and is pretty much devoted to what is of interest at the time... the rest get to wait! Years ago ...he and Carl M used to go junk yard and alley crawling for Hudsons... there were many in Ca. then.... came to pick me up at my hotel one nite in a 54 convert they had just rescued from a stack of cars. Those were the days.....0 -

yeah, I think me and Hudsondad spoke with you at Pittsburg...
I think hudsondad would be willing to find a nice storage spot for that Wasp convertible, if you decide to ever part with it. Heck, he can spend some of my inheritance, if he needs to. Better to get a wasp convertible in the end, than some old money.... kind of saves the middle man, anyhow.
I think hudsondad will be proud one day, when I spend every penny i get from the estate on old cars.... hehehe....
One thing he won't be proud of, is he got a 53 olds that has something like 38K on the odometer, and said it will never turn 40K... I'm gonna make that one my daily driver....
I'll at least make sure it doesn't hit 40K the second time around0 -
