Here's a photo for sale on ebay. It's of a race and in it a Hudson is out in front of an Olds. Not all the funny in it self, but the name of the guy selling it is "Stude 1950 Rocket 88". Perhaps as an Olds fan, he's getting rid of it because he finds it embarassing!.

Reminds me of an article, I think it was Special Inerest Autos, more than a few years back. Title of the article was "When Olds Went Racing".

At the top of the article was a picture of an Olds going over the embankment - and a Hornet racing away into the turn. hehehehe

  • Along those lines Alex, was a story in Forward , a company magazine from Chrysler a few years back going into the history of Mopar in racing. The article was including information on how great Lee Petty was in the beginning of Mopar's efforts to get into NASCAR. Funny thing was the photo to prove Petty's prowess in racing had him in an early fifties Plymouth coming in second to a Hudson crossing the line. HeHeHe yeah Lee you really racked them up. Guess it's kinda hard not to show a Hudson crossing the line first in those days!

This does not look like a very good reproduction. The upcoming issue of WTN (in the mail tomorrow) has some great never-before-seen photos of local races in California...I particularily like one showing a Hudson coming out of a turn with the Olds behind it going into the wall. (Just a sadist, I guess.) Enjoy!
