46 rear end

Any one know what the gear ratio is for a 46 Hudson super six?? Will it run okay with a 350sbc?? Thanks JR new guy

    The standard gear ration for a 46 Super Six with straight manual trans. was 4-1/9 to 1. If by chance the car had overdrive it probably has a 4-5/9 to 1

    It will run fine until you actually step on the gas, and then it will shred to pieces. Use the search function on this site to research rear axle options for your car.

    Don't throw the rear end away, the tapered bearings are hard to find and are worth saving.

    What ratio is it? Hold one axle and turn the other 2 turns and count the drive shaft revs. Should be 4.11 or 4.56
