1923 H restoration
Hi all, I am finally restoring a 1923 which I tore right to pieces in 1968! I need a crankshaft fan pulley,(1923-26 should fit), an ammeter, and a horn button. I have lots of 1926 and 1929 parts available. Geoff, I bought this car from Terry Greeny in Christchurch in1967 and towed it to Taranaki with my 29. When I returned to Canada in 1970 I brought both cars back with me.

Congratulations, and good luck! Incidentally, if you should need any advice (beyond that which Geoff can offer!) Dave Kostansek in Ohio has restored a number of the early Hudsons and can probably help you. He's in the H-E-T Roster.0

There is a good message board on Yahoo groups titled Hudson Super Six 1916-1929 that has very good folks that are into the older Hudsons that would be of help. I have a 29 Hudson 4 door standard sedan thats a good driver but needs alot of cosmetic work, what model is you 29 and would like to see some pictures. Good Luck, Ron0 -
Thanks Ron, I will check that out. I drove my 29 pretty much continuously for almost 25 years when I gave it to my son. I put 170,000 nmiles on it and it has about 620,000 miles on it now. I restored it in the early 70s but the body and trim are beginning to show the need for attention. It is a standard sedan, right hand drive, with wire wheels and twin sidemount spares. I could routinely cover the 300 miles from Abbotsford, B.C. to Portland for an HET meet in under 5 hours. When the kids were little we used to put the canoe on top and tow a tent trailer for thousands of miles. Truly one of the great cars! OOPS. That should read 6 hours to Portland, not 5. But it was happy at 70 mph. I had a rear end out of a coupe in it which gave a better ratio. Karl0

I wish I had the higher gears in my 29 for the freeways all around where I live. It seems to do good at 50 and 55 mph but I do not want to hear some bad noises so I keep it down. Around here if your not doing 65 and over your going to get ran over on the freeways. Geoff Clark told me awhile back that the sedans had the lower gears that I was not aware of. His 7 passenger sedan blew the gears and he was looking for the higher gears for it. I think he had the higher gears that blew and he was looking to replace them with the same higher gears but not sure if he did find them. My 29 has wooden wheels and was a dual side mount original but at some time in its life before me the drivers side fender was changed with out the wheel well. I have aquired the parts for the second spare from Perry Spring and his son Guy Spring is going to do the metal work to install the wheel well in he fender. Guy Spring is a very good metal worker. Email me some pics of your cars if you can. sultans@webtv.net Take care, Ron0 -

Hi Karl...I see you found the Yahoo Super Six Board OK ? There is more "older" Hudson talk over there but this board also has alot of good information. I am standardsedan29 on the yahoo baord. OH...There is a chat that gets going good now and then and I asked Jon B to post the GOOD Hudson link for it. Take care, Ron0 -
Hi Ron and many thanks for the tip about the older cars website. As I am convalescing from surgery it is a great way to spend the day. I have fone back to the 2000 posts and slowly making my way up to the present day.
