Hi Hudson people---Anyone have an interest in a Hornet block bored .090 over & with about .010 wear in the bore? I am not aware of any cracks around the valves. It does have a cast iron head. If interested, please contact Cliff Minard or Howard Wilson. We are in the roster. Thanks.

Is this a bare block or does it have some covers and rotating parts inside..? Location?

    Thanks, Davew.

The engine has crankshaft, camshaft, pistons & rings. rods, valves with guides & covers oil pump, timing gears with chain & cover, oil pan, vibration dampener, front & rear plates & cast iron cylinder head. Missing the manifolds & carbs., starter, fuel pump, distributor, oil filler tube & sending unit & the oil pressure spring & related parts & thermostat housing. After double checking the cylinder wall size, I find that there is no additional wear in the cylinders. The .090 pistons are a good fit with no apparent taper in the walls.
  • Cliff, how much $, is it in PA???

Hi Mark---So glad you are still around. My neighbor Howard Wilson who owns the engine will have to quote you a price which I am sure he will be more than happy to do. And yes it currently resides in Stevensville, Pa.
  • That would come out to about 323 cu in with the overbore. Ought to be a nice runner. Do you know if he had any cooling issues?
  • I would be curious as to whether it could go into a car, with, of course the missing bolt on items....

I think a 323~ hornet would power my hudson around quite nice, with 4:10's...

Rick---My neighbor says he wants $350.00 for the engine, but there is already someone who says that he wants it. It certainly should be a runner. Hudsonly---Cliff
