37 t-plane drums
hi everyone, i would like to know if i can chisel off the rivits on my front drums and remove locating pin ? i have aftermarket chrome reverse rims and these rivits interfer with mounting flush to drum, do they just hold drum to hub ? then when checking front brake i can pull drum off with out disturbing hub and bearings. i had that on a 64 chevelle , but that had studs to slide drum over. i do not see a problem other than getting drum and wheel/tire to line up on hub. i mounted them on 205/75/15 radials and put on car. this gave me a good fit inside rear fenders, and makes car stand out. thank you for all replys and help with this question, getting ready to get on the road soon. one more light snowfall should end winter here. thanks, dermott.:)

hi again, could some one please let me know if removing rivits on frt drums is o.k. , when replacing drums, are they re-rivited or can be loose. also, will this matter when i go back to the orig 6x16. i think the location pin un-screws???
thank everyone. dermott.0 -
Nope, Nope and Nope. The location pin makes it one heck of a lot easier to install the wheel, But you can remove it, but you wont like it when you have to replace a wheel. The rivets hold everything together, So your drum will fit , but may not be concentric/centered on the hub any more.0
