Looking for someone to restore '49 Hudson

My grandfather gave me a '49 Hudson a few years ago which I love... it was my father's. I would love to get it back onto the road. Needs some engine and body work (last out about 4 yrs ago) also, maybe give it more of a hot rod feel... paint etc... the car is in Minnesota. Loads of sentimental value.. can anyone help me out with names or websites?... I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

  • I'm sure someone here will be able to point you in the right direction, lots of knowledge around this board. Is yours a sedan, coupe? There are guys that have hotrodded the original drivetrain in these if thats the way you choose to go. Going to put ghost flames on mine 'cause I think they look very cool. Is the flathead in decent shape?

Anyway, good luck with your project, post some pics if you can, and get it out on the road!

  • I am currently restoring, street rodding, a 49 hudson coupe. If you are interested, I can tell you who is doing mine. He has done some great restoes, we are in Missouri. bennettspring@aol.com
  • the street-rod shop where I hang out is very experienced on Hudsons, they will take a car to any level the owner desires, their labor rate is $40.00 per hour, If you can dream it they can build it.

If you are interested call Roger @ 870-268-9199 (Jonesboro, arkansas)
