49 Comm. Woodgrain Question

Quick question. There is a vertical metal strip that goes between the two sections of the windshield (interior) of my 49 Comm conv. Someone painted over mine years ago.....I think this part is just meant to be painted dark brown, like the rear view mirror bracket, but I am not sure. Can someone verify this is painted and NOT wood grained? Some pictures would be even better.

dark brown is correct for that piece, speaker cover and mirror.
