Why I haven't driven the hudson yet this year... Off Topic....

Wow...

I haven't gotten my hudson out yet this year. I used our good days earlier this week to hang out at the park, with the kids, even though we were about half a mile away from the hudson, we made a day of it doing something, well, probably just as fun. I had the camera out, and changed my subject matter some, shot a few of the kids. Weird, I bet I shoot 3000-4000 cars a year, easily, and seems you never shoot enough of the family.

Oh well, figured you guys might like to see what it looks like to be young, again.

Oh well, at least they had fun. My little girl threw a fit when we finally went home. I worked third shift the previous night, and running around after my little guy can wear you out pretty quick. They had fun, and that's all that matters. We had rain here for the last two days, and I think they are close to going crazy....

Be sure you spend more time with them than with the car- or better yet, do activities with them, with the car! I don't think anyone my age looks back and says, "If I had it to do over, I wouldn't have spent so much time with the family." Believe me, they'll be grown and gone before you know it, and you and the Hudson will have plenty of free time together.
  • In a few years, you will be like me and wondering, "where did the time go and why don't the kids want to play anymore?". Mine are 19 and 21 now and they don't have much time for me. Makes me sad. Enjoy while you can. I screwed up and worked too much when they were young.
  • Must have GOOD GENES passed on from their grandfather
  • Now those are some cute kids you have there...they must look like your wife. :D How could you resist spending time with them? Although I believe in the right to bear arms, I'm a little concerned about you shooting cars, kids and the family. LOL

You are Blessed!!! You should be proud! Great thread!!!!!!!

Enjoy those kids now and spend as much time as you can with them! They grow up fast, but if you give them your time as you can now - they'll want to give you time as they grow up and have their own families and do the same.

The best gift you can give your child is you! Everything else is secondary.

Enjoy the kids and the Hudson will still be there - you don't see it's headlights leaking tears when you don't spend time with it, do you? It'll be there waiting and if they are like mine (kids), they'll want to do things with that "old car" and you.

Some will say that the Hudsons have heart and feelings - yep, ole "Neally" ( our green Super 6) does complain when she doesn't get the attention she thinks she deserves! As walk through the garge she can give a fourlored look that'll get to you, but Kids & Wife first!

I totally agree with all that has been said. My oldest is now 23 and I have only got back into cars in the last 4-5 years - previous to that the family came first. Finances could not have coped anyway as a family of six uses most of the available income.

So yes, getting back into the car scene happened when the time was right. "Ernie" as pictured is my favorite. My wife enjoys the rallys, runs etc. She keeps her distance from the shed - she says that's my job! Occasionally even one of the kids like to come with us. I did a rally earlier this year and my 17 year old daughter brought her boyfriend and they navigated for me. Next month my son and I are driving both cars for a wedding. Those times gives me a real buzz - to have the kids happy to do things and enjoy it with their dad. For me - precious kids, precious times.

Well said Tom, couldn't agree more. And you saw how my little loves the cars!
