Hi Guys,

Have Found A Twin Set Up For A 308. It Is Complete With Carbs And Air Cleaners. It Is Minus Linkages... The Guy Want's Around $500us.

Is This A Fair Price? What Questions Do I Need To Ask About Parts?

Thanks Robert

  • Probably if the carbs are rebuilt and everything is cleaned up and ready to install it's a good price. If it needs rebuilt it sounds high. We bought a couple in the last 2 years and paid 250-300 with manifolds/carb/air cleaners/some linkage. Watch out for cracked exhaust manifolds which is common.

Of course, I don't know what the going price is in Australia or the availability. Carb kits are aboiut $35 for WA-1's

I payed 350 for a set up but it all had to be cleaned up and rebuilt... 500 for a complete set ready to bolt on seems about right. Remember though, the linkege is very hard to find..... very rare to find the linkege unless it's a complete set.....
  • i recently payed $400 for my set up, i got lucky and scored a linkege with mine. 51rob, if i were you i would try to talk him done in price a bit. are the carbs rebuilt, is it in good shape? -john
  • Agree with everyone here. Complete linkage is not too easy to find. $400 to $500 ish for complete good condition set up. I expect these to go up significantly in the next couple years....
  • I don't know if He still has them but Denham Morgan in Kingsport Tn had several sets of Twin H linkages. If you need a set give him a call after 9:30 pm est. at 423-967-3841

  • 4-5 hudred for a linkage?
  • No for everything. However, Twin-H units are getting more scarce and more expensive by the day.
  • the only major difficult part of the actual twin h linkage that seems to be hard to find is the main part that gets bolted to the head. The other two shafts can be fairly easily made. I guess a bellcrank is kinda hard to find, but there again, you could make that too...

All of the connectors and what nots can be found at a good hardware store.
  • Thanks Guy's For All Your Advise. I Will See What Set Up Requires To Run On Vehicle And Report Back...

    Thanks Robert-australia
