1950 carb or kit

Greetings all,

I haven't posted in years. I have a 1950 pacemaker and I need to either rebuild the carb or get a new one - it started to leak!

I am kind of anxious to get this done because spring has arrived, and I can't wait to take the car out.

Does anyone have a contact for either a rebuild kit or a new carb?

thanks!!

Dom

  • Dom ,Dave Kostansek would be your best source for a carb rebuild kit. At one time he used to rebuild them, but now he just sells the kits so you can do it yourself. He or Tim Cheney will ship it to you for about $40. plus freight. Call 440 994 9173.
  • We have them in stock. Randy Maas 309-968-6157. Call me I will ship today.
  • Before I knew Mr. Maas had them, I used Kar-Go Carburetor in Michigan to rebuild my 749S. Price was $129.25 plus round trip shipping. I used UPS as they will ship a part with a little hydrocarbon vapor.

  • Thanks All!!

I have some fantastic news. I found a "new old stock" rebuilt carb on ebay that looks brand new! Best part? It was listed generically as just a carter wa-1 with no reference to any makes. I got it for $12.50 plus shipping - which shocked the heck out of me - because I see they have been going for no less than $80 and for a dirty used one. I am going to throw it on and see if it needs anything - I may still need a rebuilt kit and will find out by this weekend - if I'm lucky, its shipping from just a few states over.

    thanks,
