  • Here is the series of Lew's 52 Commodore 8 convertible that I shot. Talk about a car that really liked the camera.... I just wanted to shoot this car. It sounds dumb, but once in a while you find a car that is photogenic, and this one really lent itself to the camera. It looks like this one will be fantastic (even more so than it is already) when it is complete. I got a chance to hear it run, and I was blown away that it ws so quiet....

hey... I would be smiling if I had a convertible like this one as well!

  • Here's two of my favorite shots of the day....

    IMGP3644.jpg

    IMGP3645.jpg
  • Here's a shot of Cliff Minard's 54 Hornet. I consider this car one of my favorites, not sure why, but I guess it's such a great combo, color, being a 54, etc... Cliff is such a nice guy, hard car not to like!

    IMGP3646.jpg

And a shot of Allen Minard's Hollywood. Black, clean, what else could you want (okay, so i'm still not a fan of Hollywoods, but black makes it easier to love!)

  • Sorry for the picture overload, I'm tired, will add the remainder tomorrow. Comment, enjoy, critique, etc.... have fun!

    Best!

    Thanks hudsonkid!!
  • no problem.

I got to give my show report at some point as well. I bet everyone will find a lot of humor in me buying a pair of NOS grille V's for my 50 commodore, but actually buying pacemaker v's instead. Geez..... Oh well, i got enough stuff to become a hudson parts vendor, maybe at the local meet in Carlisle in October!

Great job on the pic's and commentary!! It must have been a super meet and it looks like the weather was nice as well - what else could you ask for?

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your handy work - even if you do buy parts that you don't need!

Have a great day from the HudsonNut in Phoenix.

Saturday was a wash. I MEAN a WASH! It rained off and on all day. When it rained, it came down in buckets! During the banqet it rained again. That was the last straw for me. I took the Pacemaker home and it stayed there. I was going to take it to the caverns Sunday morning, but I left for the caverns early and didn't fell like waking the entire neighborhood before I left!
  • Great Pics Hudsonkid! That blue Coupe is beautiful! (even for a stocker! LOL). I still like the '54 Hollywood the best of the Hollywoods.

Hudson kid, what you email , I'll send you a bunch more photo's any you can load them if you want ... I have some great shots'thx
  • It was a great meet with some rare cars. Besides Lew's '52 Commodore 8 Convertible, It was large turnout of Hollywoods including a '52 Commodore 6 and 8, and of course some real nice Hornet Hollywoods. Large # of stepdown convertibles from 48 to several 54's. The best shot though was of Lew, Jon, and Hudsonkid. I thought a picture of them hugging was asking too much!!!!! Best weather we had for the last couple years.

Yeah, the blue coupe was owned by the same guy hudsonda bought his 52 coupe from. It was a terrific car then, as well as now. I got so many pictures of that car it is kinda ridiculous.... but those two shots were fantastic, I just had to share. I cannot remember who bought it, but they seem to enjoy the car quite a bit.

  • Hudson Kid, Great pictures!

I think we should start a poll on favorite photos! My vote would be the rear of Lew's '52 Commodore 8 Convertible. Just an awsome photo.

    Thanks for sharing with us.

    Terry
  • go ahead, start a poll, I would be curious as to what you guys like best. ....

my personal favorite for a poll was going to be a pollof me, lew and jon, who was the best looking, but figured they would get mad when I won... hehehe...

Like I said, lew's car was awesome, i couldn't even try to take a bad picture of that car. It just was fantastic, I look forward to the opportunity to shoot it again, perhaps complete with trim, etc...

If he brings it to Minard's picnic in August, I will be more than glad to shoot it and anyone else's that want higher quality pictures shot of their car. I can't promise pro results, but i'm sure to get a few you will be happy with, and the price is great, free.... i just like shooting the cars, and making them look nice.
  • hey, just posted part 2 of this under a separate thread..

if anyone is interested in a set of something here in a printable file or even a set of large files, drop me a PM, and I can send it to you. Pictures are around 4-6 megs each (jpegs) if memory is right, This is not permission to use these in print, but for your own personal use.

If someone out there wishes to use these for publication, let me know. I can also supply Tiff files, if you like...
