Hudson Tire Inflator Fire Extinguisher
I found one of these in my father in laws basement. What years came out with them. I do not know much about hudsons, but always admired them at car shows. If anyone could give me some info on these things, I would appreciate it.
The info I am looking for, what cars, what years and if it is worth anything, It appears to be charged still. I can probably post some pics if it helps...
Thanks in advance:D

anyone got any info on these?0 -
Until someone more knowledgeable steps in, I'll hazard the guess that your inflator / extinguisher is from the 1948-54 era. This was the period where Hudson began to offer a huge number of accessories. And yes, to collectors these have a certain value. In a pinch you could just put it up for sale on Ebay. You might even check there to see if any others are up for sale, in order to track the actual price paid for one.0

Yes I Have A Few One With The (holder)they Were From The 41 To 47 Era At Least That Is What The Part Number Says I Have Seen Them For Sale In The $20 Range At Hudsopn Meets As A Matter Of Fact I Saw One Sell At Doc's Meet Just Last Week Sold By Frank Dluhy From New Your And I Think Dave Brady From Pa Bought It And Like I Said For Around $20 It Had A Really Nice Decal On It0

I'd agree these probably started out pre-stepdown judging the the Hudson logo on it, but they were sold into the step down era. They come with a short(6" or so) cloth covered hose that screws to your valve stem. I don't recall what the brackets were like or where they were supposed to be mounted. Can anyone post a picture of the bracket or pehaps have the original box/instructions?0

Yeah! Someone post a pic of one of these things! Following this thread is interesting.0 -
At last year's Nationals I saw one of these on a car, and the owner told me that they were real popular 'back in the day' with the moonshiners that used Hudsons. That way the gas station attendants (remember them?) wouldn't have to get into the trunk to check the spare's air!0

Hudsonguy-
That's a different Hudson accessory. They made a long air hose that went from the valve stem on your spare and mounted in the valance below the trunk lid. It allowed you to keep your spare filled without getting into the trunk. Pretty clever!0 -

If you get the chance, I'd still like to see a shot of your installation. Thanks!0 -
Has anybody reproduced the decal used on the Hudson Tire inflator or the Hydraulic Floor jack?
I have both and would like to restore them to look like new.0 -

Paul, were you able to take a pic of this set-up yet? I've never seen one, but they sound cool!

If I'm not mistaken, K-Gap sells the decal for the jack. Not sure about who, if anyone, sells a decal for the inflator.0
