Looking for Speedomoter Cable Gear
I've got the original 15 tooth gear on my '49 262 w/OD. My speedometer reads a good 20% too fast. My odometer is also racking up the miles too quickly.
From what I've read in past WTN's, I think I'm in need of probably either a 17 or 18 tooth gear. Would anyone have one of these, or know where one could be obtained?
Thanks,
Doug

Is it an original overdrive car, with the 4.55 axle, or was the OD added (therefore 4.10 axle)? If 4.55, the gear should have 18 teeth and the S-W number 448296 on it. If 4.10, the gear should have 16 teeth and the 448299 on it. Check with Ken Amman or Al Saffrahn for a gear.0

It is not an original overdrive car, therefore it does indeed have the 4.10 gear. Mine also has only 15 teeth on the cable gear. I counted it several times to be sure.
Thanks for the part numbers, Park, I'll contact Ken or Al for the gear.0 -
I Would Contact Frank Dluhy In Ny He Had A Few Of Them Last Year0
