re 2-H air cleaners
can someone tell me why there are diffs in the air cleaners as far as carb mount eara appearance. meaning that i have seen some that are more round on the horn than a squared off look in the same area. hope you understand my trying explination. but im guessing a year change in the look? i have numorous sets on and off my cars and was wondering what is correct. thanks for looking

There may be one exception. I recently worked on a 54 Hornet (Late 54production) that had the round ended cleaners and the AMC decals attached. Since AMC had taken over by then, It's possible the round end cleaners may have appeared in late 54.... Just when you think you have all the information..something else pops up..0

as far as AACA goes, I'm not sure where the line is drawn. I think that twin H is not frowned upon on pre 52 cars, or hydra's in pre 51's or PS or PB on 53 and earlier....
I think that if an attempt is made to make the car sorta correct, and done well, that it seems to be the exception of the rule.
I personally don't see issue if someone runs twin h on a pre 52 hudson, or if someone decides to put PB on a 53, who cares, if it is done nice.0
