53 Hudson Hornet(project)

Well, of course 'out there', beyond Hudsonland, most any Hudson part is going to be moderately hard to find. But generally, the 1953 is one of the more popular cars amongst Hudson owners. Are you going through the usual Hudson suppliers (such as listed on Dave Sollon's and Ken Cates' webpages) and looking through the ads in the White Triangle News?0

There were significantly fewer Hornets built in model year 53 than earlier years, which is no doubt a contributor. Alex B. could probably list the production numbers. Conversely, like Jon said, the 53's are highly sought after by Hudson people today.0 -
In my opinion 53 is the best looking hornet, but apparently the buying public disagreed with only 27,208 built according to butler. Hudson lost over 10 million in 53 and it cost 12 million to tool up for the jet.0

If anyone wants a 1953 Hornet project car, I have a 4 door sedan in Pittsburgh, PA with good sheetmetal that needs some rear frame work, driveline, interior redone and total restoration. It will go cheap, to someone who will restore it.0

Sam, our intrepid Editor and also a denizen of this board, can generally be talked into sending you a free copy of the White Triangle News. You will be impressed with the magazine- its far better than most of us clowns deserve, and wins prizes, even from those who could give a hoot about our beloved Hudsons. Many sources of parts therein, as well as interesting stories.0
