Hudson Meet - Royer's 1965
Here's a pic from a meet at my grandparent's house in 1965. I thought you guys might enjoy it.

Here's the url for the big uncompressed file if you'd like it http://royermusic.com/meet1965.jpg
More old pics coming, when I get time to scan them in.

Great pic.
Thanks for posting. I've got lots of scanning to do too.

That is a great picture. More cps and converts than 4 doors even in those days.0

More scans.
Hi Ed, here's a pic of your car. My dad thinks it was in Hamilton Ohio in either '65 or '66.
Another pic that might interest you is this pic of Bob Mackey from Rochester NY with his Italia. This was at the Royer's in 1965.0 -
Ok, a couple more. Here's the Satan of Morimar (mid 60's era)
and Satan's engine0 -
These are priceless pics! I'll bet that Paul and Grace Bell, who now edit the Pennsylvania Dutch newsletter (for the second time; the first time around they did it for 25 years!) would love to reprint some of these for the benefit of their older members!0

Matt,
The picture of the meet at my parents' house was not in 1965. I believe it was in 1967 or 1968. Why I say this is that I am in the picture wearing my high school jacket, and black framed glasses. ( You can see me above the second car in from the right. 54 Hornet cp.) Also, my 51 Hornet cp is the first car on the left. My intials are on the front - WMR. I won't have had my drivers license until 1967 or the car until then. Also, in the background you can see part of your fathers's 1965 Sport Fury. He did not get that car until 67 or 68.
Thanks for posting the picture. Uncle Bill0 -
Cool pics - everyone - These are the kind of pictures the HET club should be soliciting from their members to scan and keep for History.
"The Satan of Morimar" ~ what happened to the louvered hood?
The hood in the car that got auctioned a year or so ago had the leather buckles on the front but a later model hood (54?) with the scoop and no louvers.0 -
Matt,
Your pap, ( Dick Royer for those who may remember him) took me for a ride in Mackey's Italia while he had it at Pap's meet. We took it for about an hour drive. Not many Hudson enthusiasts have ridden that long in an Italia! Thanks for the memories. Uncle Bill0 -
Bill,
I blame Dad for the mix up in dates!! There is a photocopy of a pic from the '65 meet, but I don't think I'll be able to get a good scan of it.0 -

I really like the Hudson hood ornament on the Satan of Morimar. I wonder if the Hudson hood ornament has a Hudson hood ornament on it...0 -
I love the picture of the Jet and the Italia. The guy sure looks like an Itlaia owner doesnt he. Probably the best shot of the Jet that I have seen from the day. You can see the hood rusted to the point that one of the letters fell off, the rear bumper had already fallen off, holes above each headlight, but in this picture the door seems to fit pretty well.0

You guys threw me off at first when you mentioned Bob Mackey. My Dad goes by Bob and would have probably been about the right age then, but he was/is an Olds guy and was here in CA at the time. Still a good name if I do say so myself.

Yeah Rob, I was wondering if you were an old school Hudson clubber in disguise LOL0
