Thinking of selling my 1953 Hudson

What do you think this 53 would be worth. It was purchased from a defunct car dealership. The guy took it in trade just before he closed the business. It sat in a heated warehouse for 32 years. Some rust out on the rear and side perimeter frames. Told the car has just over 43,000 and I believe it to be true. I have many parts that I bought for the car and may sell with or wiithout them. Parts include a reconditioned gas tank, rechromed pieces for the grill, water pump, fuel pump, new door handles, tune up parts etc. I was thinking about asking around $2500 for the car or $4500 with all the parts. What do you all think? Too much? Too little? or just right.

Thanks,

  • Mine's in worst shape and was told it's worth about $2,500. I might be interrested in the fuel pump, door handles and that.I have a 53 Hornet with the super 6.Let me know what you decide.Thanks. Don
  • Glenn,

The price for the car alone seems fair. But, the additional $2,000.00 for the parts you mentioned seems a tad high. Does the car run and drive?Hopefully, someone will buy the car and restore it. If you don't mind my asking, why are you selling?
  • Hi, Yes, the price for the car seems fair. Where is the car located, and what do you suppose trailering costs to Southwesten Idaho would be? It's the same color combo as my 52 Hornet (now retired). Why is the dash painted blue-green color? Thanks Steve

I would be interested in the re-conditioned gas tank. Where is it and how much would it cost?
