...there's never anything for the ladies to do...:D

Comments

  • Maybe the crowd pictured should have brought along some soap, water towels and polish to spiff up their ride.
  • G'day Sam,

This would and should be of great interest to all ladies of Hudson Owners. We in Australia, well the Hudson AMC car club of Australia based in Sydney anyway have no such issues. Every club run the ladies will bring along there favourite homemade special recipe for others to share. The ladies seem to communicate with each other prior to each run for example, ring, email or even talk to each other at a previous general meeting. The comittee will put on a BBQ and the men will do the cooking and have a couple cold beers. The club pays for the meat every now and then otherwise you will be notified before hand by means in the club magazine events page. All the food will be put on the tables and you then try out what ever you want. Everyone helps to cleanup afterwards. It works well.

The one event in which the ladies really get involved is our long weekend runs or the week long national rally. A rally committee is formed on a general meeting night. It is always a 50/50 ladies and men in that committee. The ladies get really envolved here. On the rally we visit many tourist sites from motor museums to lavender farms to local Zoos to soap factories to winerys etc etc.

Our yearly Presidents Weekend run is spectacular run. Usually starts Friday night at a host Motel/Hotel with a few drinks which most of the time goes to midnight. It was this event about 6 years ago when the ladies had few too many drinks...they started to sing. It went for hours, there must of been about 10 ladies. Ever since then there was no turning back for the HUDSONETTES. They now have their own songbook which they take with them on our big runs. The Hudsonettes now have up to 20 plus members. It's lucky that we have a few professional musicians in the club also.

At our most recent Presidents run, the Club Band featured about 6 or 7 instruments. They got together on a Saturday and with the Hudsonettes singing in tune there was no stopping them. The following day we met up with a local car club for a breakfast do. A rumor flew around and the local club insisted us to do a mid morning GIG. This was the Hudsonettes debut public performance. It was a resounding success. During the weekend we had over 50 members in attendence along with over 20 HET cars. The Hudsonettes have a very bright future. Look out America in 2009, here we come.

As you can see here anything can happen.

Give it a go. Take the ladies out one night and see what happens when they get together.

Here was just a couple of ideas.

    regards

Perhaps we could organize a mah-jong game, or maybe a high tea. How about a fashion show? Or a quilting party?

This was just supposed to be a funny caption for this foe toe...it does not reflect on any actual Hudson event, most of which are organized, run and catered by the wonderful women of HET...:D

  • The Trouble with this national is that I won't be able to attend! I recently had a defibrillator implanted and the doctor said no, to a trip this soon. Plus he scheduled an appointment for the 26th. I hope everyone has a great time.
