Has anyone used another make tilt steering column on a step-down? I want to use one with a column shifter for my 4L60e. Are most column easy to paint?

If someone has already done this, might save me time measuring and trying to hunt one down.

Thanks.........Jay

  • rodders choice is one out of a 68-72 chevy/gmc pickup . one also can use one out of a early 70's van . almost the same as the pickup but a bit longer.

i , myself have 69 oldsmobile tilt tele column i am going to put in mine ... hope it doesn't stick out too far and make it uncomfy , but looks like it will do the trick .

Mike, do you have a part number? Are you talking about an entire column?

    Jay,

I have used GM Buick/Old's Tilt Column's in my Hudson's, but also utilized the 605 PS Boxes. Ididit Co. mentioned previously also makes a column Shift 'Universal adjustable Rod Kit' with brackets & Arms to go out to the GM Tranny. Additionally, they make a neat 'stick on' Gear Selector to put on your column.
