"NICE" 37 Terraplane pickup on Ebay

Trucks don't have the zeppelin. Just the cars.0

The lower end cars didn't have the red celluloid blimp, either. Hudson commercial vehicles were generally outfitted by the company like their cheapest model cars. For example, you see a lot of '46-'47 pickups with the chrome spears and turn signal lights on top of the front fenders. Not factory. Maybe the dealer put them on from the parts bin, but a lot were pirated from cars later. :cool:0

As far as I know, the spare was standard to the right-front fender. Don't believe that a left-front spare was a factory option for this truck, but am pretty sure that a dealer would probably have installed one - for a price...
VERY NICE truck... Wish I had the $$ and the space (too many trucks, too little time).

Was this the standard hood emblem? I seem to recall a red plastic 'blimp' shaped hood emblem on the '37 model...
Looks like Ricks truck has a twin brother just a little older...If you could put them together in a picture I am sure they are twins..:)0 -
Sam, the Terraplane cars had the zeppelin. Mine is a Model 71 Brougham (low end), and had one from the factory. I still have the remains of the original. It MAY have been optional on the low-end cars, but I've personally never seen a car without one, and have seen quite a few '37 cars in pics and in person since owning mine. The dealer info also shows the zeppelin on a Model 71.
Commercial cars, on the other hand, probably did not have them, and have the same ornament as the pictured TP truck.0 -
It was advertised in a back issue of WTN for i think $35.0000

On the hood ornament, to clarify (maybe!) a bit more, the "commercial" vehicles were the ones with the simple ornament, as on this pickup. The commercial car category included the utility coupe (with the roll-out cargo bed) and the utility coach, a 2-door sedan with no back seat... sort of a "business sedan."0

If I remember correctly (based upon prior attempts to sell it) I suspect the reserve is over $60K...... a LONG way to go in 3 days.
Beautiful truck0
