Hi everyone! I am writting from Portugal and I'm restoring an Hudson commodore sedan 1947 and it has problems in the clutch. After consultation of the forum I think that it is necessary to change the oil of the clutch. How can I verify the level of the oil? How can I change the oil. Please do not use terms very technical therefore it will be more dificult for me to understand.

Best regards

Coutinho

To drain oil, remove flywheel cover pan two 7/16' headed bolts, turn engine till 3/4' headed bolt appears in the flywheel as you lay under the car, undo and oil will drain, after it has drained turn engine till hole from which you removed the bolt appears above the starter motor, use a small funnel with a plastic tube attached to fill the clutch, the correct amount of oil is 1/3 of a pint, you can use Automatic Transmission oil, use Dextron 3 if available, after filling replace bolt and flywheel cover.

    .

After filling if clutch shudders add a small amount of oil, if clutch slips, drain a small amount out.
