Ist this car a 34 or 33 Hudson. I thought the louvers on a 34 bonnet went the other way

You are right about the louvers, this is a 32-33 hood. It is just there to fill the hole and make the car look better would be my guess.

So are you saying it is a genuine 34 Roadster.

I have been looking for one. I have a 34 hudson eight sedan that I could use as a parts car. The roadster would be a lot more desireable
  • I have pics of this car when it was for sale in Vancouver, B.C. It is basically just a rough 34H8 conv body and a bare frame, the axle were ford and were just under it to move it around. The rare conv parts, ie door windows & top frame were missing at that time. It in CA now and the last price I heard was around 25K. I could have bought it for $8,500 abck in 1999, but passed on it.

don't get too excited. these folks have had this car for at least 6 years. they were originally asking 34k. before they hualed it down from canada the car had a tree fall on it and a door post was mangled. and as another hudsonite wrote here, it has lost its original running gear. people have been passing on this car for 6 years. i think it will sit a while longer. regards, tom

They must be mad. It is out of my league. I will restore the sedan it is a nice rust free car. Regards Trevor
  • I agree the price is unrealistic but don't count out the car's ability to make a beautiful piece when finished. The 33 Chrysler cabriolet below was purchased by my uncle (for many, many times less than any of the prices mentioned here) as just a rusted out all along the bottom edges, badly beaten up and not a straight panel left-in fact very few panels left-body only with no frame, no fenders, no front clip, no rumble lid, and no interior.

It was one no one believed even he, a noted hobby-builder, would be able to bring back to life. Using a sedan donor car he already had, he transformed that heap into this (picture doesn't come close to doing it justice) beautiful resto-rodded car by using frame, front clip, and fenders from the donor car then building rumble lid from scratch, using 34 Ford window frames and folding top frame (with modifications), and updated drive train. I am now a firm believer in they all can be saved!
