Twin H carb rebuild question

I'm rebuilding the carbs on my 55 Hash and I've got a second ball check I can't find where to put. I can look on the schematic of the carb kit and it looks like it says it goes under the accelerator pump but I don't think that is correct, at least I can't see where it would go. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Go to this web site. Page down to Carter WA-1 Service Procedure and click on it. Use the Next legion in the upper left corner to page through the four pages of the Service Procedure (Click past the out of sequence Universal Carbureters page). The answer is on Page 3. The ball goes into the inlet to the accelerator pump. It prevents the gas from going back into the float bowl when the accelerator pump works.

  • Mars55, thank you, that helped me realize there was actually a screen in the bottom of the pump and remove it and get that ball out. Now I have to figure out where this extra ball came from. I now have the two balls that show plus a third ball that fell out of something when I inverted the bowl. Thanks again on that web page, that helped explain what I wasn't seeing.

Well, that third ball does not appear in the documentation, but this thread has the answer.

  • Mars55; thanks once again,it seems these 968S carbs are a little different from everything else. I didn't think the extra ball came from the low speed jet but it must have
