54 Hornet Sedan - trunk lid
On the subject car, directly above the Hudson emblem and the key insert on the trunk, there are 4 small holes, 2 on each side, and the pair are about 4 inches apart. Of the 54's I have seen, admittedly not that many, I have never seen any kind of emblem there. What could they be for other than perhaps a dealer emblem? They are very evenly spaced and are identical on each side.
Thanks,
Doug

Hum...Dealer emblem would explain only one set of holes, but not at that location. But two holes on each side that are evenly spaced suggest an attempt at back-up lights. That's my guess.0

My guess is latch mounting holes for a continental kit, if the holes are quarter inch. thats my story and im sticking to it. On second thought, it could be mounting holes for a long ago removed wheelie bar or rear wing spoiler. LOL0

Does the car have any remains of a continental kit, wheelie bar or wing on it?0

how about a TWIN H POWER E MBLEM0

Twin-H-Power emblem has only three pegs, and on '54s were normally mounted on the lower left side of the trunk lid.
