I had heard this...yuck. Having it in Ontario makes no sense to me. As stated, it is hot and smoggy, what is there to do for the meet? A cheaply priced hotel?. California Speed Way again? , so what.
Why not Torrance, Long Beach, Redondo Beach, Anaheim. All close to LAX, Long Beanch or John Wayne airport in Orange County. Hec, even have it in San Diego.
Lots of great venues in So Cal. Major cruise nights, beaches, Disneyland or Knotts Berry Farm, Car museums, Sea Word, San Diego Zoo, etc..... There are tons of great hotels available close or right on the water for very reasonable. My 2 cents.0 -

All those other locations you mentioned would be great! They had a Fantastic National in Buena Park in 1982 at Knotts Berry Farm. Ever try driving the "parking lot", freeway 10 out to Ontario? Now is the time to speak up your thoughts pro or con , as it will be presented at the Auburn National.0 -

The Western Regional that was held there was one of the best meets I personaly was ever to. You want to have it near LAX??? Are you kidding me? Way better to fly into Ontario Airport then LAX or John Wayne. LOL You obviously haven't flown into Ontario or LAX lately. As for the speed way, I hope they DO set that up again! I missed it last time and wish I could have went around the track once. I think it would be fun and in a Hudson yet.
You mention the beach? Disneyland? Sea World? if you do these things are ya gunna take any time to see the car show?
Who ever set up that meet in Ontario (Western Regional) made a really cool meet and I hope they are organizing this one too. Great turn out of Hudsons also. So, judging by the last bunch of cars that showed up, I think a lot of people would like to have the show there. I vote Ontario. My two cents.:cool:0 -

I remember that Buena Park meet. It was a good one. But, that was twenty-five years ago! The traffic in Buena Park is way worse then anything your gunna find in Ontario today. The 10 Freeway does suck, try the 60 Freeway it's a little better. Not much better. But, in Southern California ALL the freeways are bad! You wanna see bad traffic try going around Disneyland, Sea World, the beach, LAX, Knott's Berry Farm, or any other tourist attraction in Southern California. lol Lets get real, Ontario ain't that bad... and it's a dry heat...lol0 -

Torrance????? Why???? all the freeways bypass it. Talk about hard to get around!!!!!!0

Right on, Bent Metal. The Ontario regional was fantastic and easy to get to.0

The Western Regional in 2006 was as close to a National Meet as any that
I have ever attened, and I have been to over 20 National Meets and many
regionals. You can also fly into this meet, which is more than I can say for
last years, this years, and next years National Meets. So for the members
who can't drive thier Hudson to the National, because of time factors, distance, or any other valid reasons, then they can get a cheap flight to
Ontario and just step off the plane and enjoy the meet. Go Ontario.0 -

I attended the Ontario meet in 2006 and also enjoyed it. Many people attend with their wives from across the country and I'm sure they would like to see something different like our great beaches or theme parks. Why all congregate around a motel somewhere? You can do that anywhere. If your going to have it in So Cal then show the members what makes it famous.
As far as traffic, it all sucks and no one has a better solution for that. As far as Torrance... you have the 405 fwy and the 110 fwy. Thats as accessible as it gets. I fly in and out of LAX on business all the time. It isn't that bad... plus you have Burbank and Long beach airports as options.
Ontario is OK but my vote is we all stay at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, tie the National meet into the Disney / Pixar movie theme "Cars" and get Disney / Pixar to sponsor some events. Now thats Hollywood.0 -

Agreed. I would love to volunteer, but being a single Dad of two, coaching both of their soccer teams and working 10 to 12 hour days and travel every other week doesn't allow me too much extra time...but theres always an excuse not to volunteer right?
Just saw the latest WTN... seven obituaries. Be nice for the club to market themselves better to the public. Put the Hudsons in a more public venue. Thousands of people would walk pass our cars if held at Knotts or Disneyland. Easy to arrange media coverage aswell. In my opinion, this is what any National meet held should be trying to accomplish, especially in So Cal.
I'm am not knocking the club in the least. Just think we should look at things differently.0
