The following URL is to a Studebaker site Trans parts T90 and T86, the later being the model of the double lever trans... fellow has 18 tooth Speedo Pinion Gear listed for $30.

Could this be what you are looking for?

The gear they have is not right one for Hudson. A man sent me an early one, and said it would fit, but it can not be transfered to small shaft. I returned it to him. The one I need has smaller hole for smaller diameter shaft.

Dave s, I bought one from Doug Wildrick for my 49. Works great. Richie.

Thanks, but 49 takes the longer shaft, I need short shaft. I asked Doug at National and he doesn't think he had any.

For anyone else needing one, I purchased an 18 tooth from Studebaker supplier, StudebakerParts.com and it is right for 54 transmission. Thanks to Ken Kates for suggesting Studebaker.
  • For what it's worth, Nash also used the Warner T 86 trans along with some Ford products 57 and up
