Hudsondad likes these......
Personally, I would rather see him get one in sunburst yellow, willow green, and crocus yellow..... tri tone....
(unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be a factory available tri tone...)

The travel beds were standard in 55 to 57 Custom models. The Super series were optional. In Australia the we had 55 to 57 Customs but the 55 Customs never received the travel bed. This was due to keeping the cost down. A 55 to 57 Hudson was three times the price of the Aussie Holden sedan but had 3 times the power and more options. 56 and 57 Hudsons all received the travel bed here.
My 55 Hornet was fitted with the travel bed when it was restored. It takes only a minute to set up. It has width eqivalent of a queen size bed, just a bit shorter. I beleive an air matress was an factory option but never seen one. This would have helped to even out the bed.

I had a very nice '56 Super Wasp from '01-'02. Traded a guy in North Dakota a Jeep Cherokee with 250K miles on it, straight up, for it. Drove great, but the radiator had problems and I couldn't find another, nor was the original fixable. Nice drivers! Mine had the Jet 202 with the single carb and 3-speed with OD. Radio even worked in it!
And the seat in it folded down, too!
It's in SoCal somewhere. One of the Inland Chapter members owns it.0 -

But if I'm going to have to get one more car past "Hudsonmom", it's going to be a convertible.0 -
