1929 Hudson wheel puller needed
A friend has tried just about every trick in the book to remove one of his rear drums (on his '29 Hudson) with no success. He's gotten advice from fellow '29 owners but nothing seems to work (he got the OTHER drum off, but not this one).
He does not have a puller. Does anyone have one for sale, or would they be willing to lend one if a sufficient deposit were paid? He's located in eastern West Virginia. All postage would of course be paid. This is a guy who believes in DRIVING his '29, so the inability to get in to work on his brakes, is cramping his style! Your help is earnestly solicited!

Here is some information & talk about this on the Yahoo Hudson Super Six16-29 Board Jon B. Need to scroll down when you open this to see all the coments. Good luck, Ron0 -
He hasn't yet tried every trick in the book! he can remove the axle shaft from the side he has already taken the wheel off, and then give the other axle a good whack with a heavy hammer. As there will be no inner limit, this will loosen the axle from the tapered hub, and allow removal of the wheel.

RON: Thanks for the thought, I went to the Super Six site and copied Geoff's ideas there, and sent them off to the fellow. Incidentally, I'm trying to register for the site so I can post a question there myself.
GEOFF: Ooooo..... I thought whacking one's axle shaft was verboten! Does one not risk fracturing the little thingie at the inner end? Or is there no little thingie, on the 1929's?
I shall pass this info along to him, though...0 -
If you read my post CAREFULLY, you will note that I advised removing the axle shaft from the other side. As the axles butt together in the centre, there is nothing for the remaing axle to limit against, whacking it on the end will jar it loose from the taper.

Obviously no 'thingie' in a 290
