Anyone confirm this is a '27 Essex body? It's available from a non-Hudson owner in Athens, GA. Other photos available. E-mail me at xyzpwald@comporium.net (remove xyz for actual address).

Yes it is definitely off a '27 Essex.

  • Park, I do see some things that might make it a late 26Essex, The cowl vent drain on my 27's goes on an angle towards the left side of the fire wall. Also the dash panel does not have enough holes for the 27 controls, there should be 2 half inch holes to the left of the inst cluster opening and I don't see them on this one.

Okay, I should not have used the word "definitely" as now I perceive, giving due heed to Tom's comments, the body is off a 1927 HUDSON Coach, not an Essex. As Tom mentions, the drain channel is vertical, and if you look closely at the elongated int he firewall, this is for the carburettor heat control rod. the Essex cowl comes down at a greater angle from the windscreen frame, and is narrower. The bodies are the same from the cowl back on Hudson and Essex.
