Distributor interchange? Hop up on ebay.
Does the 232-262-308 distributor interchange with chrysler/desoto or plymouth/dodge? because there is an old mallory magspark ignition on ebay at the moment for Chryslers.

Some Chrysler distributors from the '70's (with electronic ignition) can be used in the Hudson by just turning down the shaft a tiny amount- there have been threads on it in the past, I think. Maybe thats where the confusion arose.0

Actually, you have to turn down the housing slightly on a lathe. You also have to reassemble the unit using the unique Hudson shaft. Both units were made by the same supplier so the Hudson shaft attaches directly to the Chrysler electronics. Any mid to late 70's Chyrsler slant six system will work. I've done this several times with great results. One could probably do the same with this high performance unit.0 -
There was one at the nationals The owner said it was a slant six distributor with Hudson guts and gear on it with no other modifications ( no turning down the housing) I believe he was from montana or Wyoming, He was the fellow who worked for the oil company and spoke at one of the tech sessions a great guy to visit with, and a first class car to boot. Someone help me with his name.

I am using the vacuum advance. I can't recall the amount of advance offhand, but it's the original specification, as I use the original Hudson counterweights and mounting plate along with the shaft.
The slant six housing stub diameter is about .040" too big, at least the several I've measured, but it's a simple 10 minute lathe operation. The last time I did it I really 'snuck up on the diameter' to give me a nice snug fit. This eliminated any distributor 'wobble' whatsoever. The toughest part of the whole job is getting that little spring clip off to remove the attenuator (underneath the rotor), when disassembling the mopar unit.
Once it's all done though it works great. My car usually starts within a second or two of pushing the start button (I've got a '49).0
