Do not use urethane sealer or silicone. Silicone is just a big NO-NO and urethane will harden and is made non-rubber seal installed windows on modern cars.
This is the product and part # you want and should be available at a local autobody supply or online.
3Mâ„¢ Auto Bedding and Glazing Compound, 08509
Non-hardening, pliable, water-resistant, medium-bodied sealer for sealing auto seams and between windshield rubber and car body. Can be used as a supplementary sealer for auto glass installation.0 -
YOU DO NOT NEED SEALER ON THE REAR AND QUARTER WINDOWS. k gap rubber does the job, front windshields also on 37s. stepdoowns another matter as they just push up against inner body, i use a clear sealer as desribed, wipe off the excess, BILL ALBRIGHT0

Bill, what is the clear sealer you referred to? The windshield is my only concern
on my 36 pickup. Thanks for your input. Howard0 -
