Jet test run

I took my Jet out for its first test run Saturday evening. Everything went well! It was just a 30 mile round trip but I didn't want to push it to much. It was night by the time I got home, but I planned it that way so I could check out the lights. They were fine! Better than expected. I drove around 50 to 60 mph. The engine was running a little tight at that speed but not to bad. I am going to put in a ovd tranny this winter any way. Got a lot of looks and positive comments, I have rode in a stepdown before and it was great! But don't forget the Jet's they are a lot of fun too.!!

I'm green with envy! :O) No, I'm excited for you. Hopefully, summer weather will stick around for you so you can get some good cruising time in.

I drove my Jet for 50,000 miles with the standard 3-speed, before fitting an o/d. Man, what a difference! You won't believe how it transforms it from a pleasure to drive, to pure delight! 2,000 r.p.m. @ 60 m.p.h makes it just unburstable, quietens it down, and of course extends the engine life. Teh Hornet gets the looks, but the Jet is a far more practical and enjoyable car to drive everyday. Best of luck with yours, Barry.
