Washed the '41 today, checked the carbs, oils, etc., and loaded it on the trailer -- see if we can upset some ford, chev. and mopar boys tomorrow at beautiful midstate dragway in Havana, Ill.

  • any updates on how you did this weekend?

mine is a little on the sick side with a oil leak around

the pressure gauge port in the block. with the long

tube headers I can't get down there to see exactly

    where its leaking from.

  • Well for the update. Good news and bad news. Good news it ran consistant and bad news, it is still running slow. I've narrowed the slow running down to ignition timing or cam timing. First time trial 8.84--about one second slow. Seond time run 8.84. Third time trial 8.850. First round of eliminations-dial 8.84 and .008 reaction--not bad for being out for three years. Won my first race. Holy sh-t. Second round dial 8.84 and had a .023 reaction and went 8.85. Won my second round. Hey this ain't to bad. Third round the weather cooling down. DA down. Decided to play games and dial the same a let out of it at the line. Had a .014 reaction--the other guy had a .009--I broke out by 5 and he broke out by 3. If I had just tapped the brakes so he would have broke out more. Still had a good day and had fun. Plan on doing it again sunday afternoon. Never put a wrench on it--just kept the gas tank full.
