6v to 12v conversion imfo.
OK boys and girls. Go out and buy the OCT. issue of Hot Rod and go to Pit Stop section in the rear of mag. Even I found something I did not know. Ford in the 60's used 6v insturments. They used a 12v to 6v regulator to reduce voltage to 6v. Autozone # IVR601/ O Reilly# R300, Borg waner item also # R300. Look it up about $25.00.

My 12v conversion guidelines for stepdowns (on Ken Cates' site and elsewhere) say to use an instrument voltage regulator from NAPA (their IR2), at about $12. That one was for these Fords. NAPA doesn't have that item any more, so it's good to have this other reference (too bad it's so expensive though). Ford and Hudson both used King-Seely gauges, thus the compatibility. Ford gas tank sending units from Dennis Carpenter work in our Hudsons also.0
