Batt. charger start

Just bought a new batt. charger, Thought i would start a 6 volt positive ground car with it was not sure the best way to hook it up ? Batt is in car, Black to negative post, but positive to positive post or to body ground? Or what would be best hook-up Thanks

You got it right Pos to Pos Neg to Neg. hook up the battery end first and then use the body/frame connection to complete the circuit and remove them in the reverse order. Body/frame removed first, then the battery. The idea is to not cause any sparks at the battery. The batteries can explode if a spark sets off the hydrogen gas in and around the battery. Been there...done that!

It also helps to shut the charger off befpre connecting and disconnecting.
