Diaphram Needed

Anyone have a diaphram for the cylinder that operates the shift mechanism used on the mid 30's electric shift ? It is 3 3/8 diameter with about 1/2 inch dish. That is unless it was originally flat and took on the dish from setting for 70 some yrs.

    I think what K-gap has is for the later drivemaster system, hex shape and a bit larger. $65 each. Anyone needing one I have several new ones I won't be needing for a LOT less. The rubber is live and in good shape.--- Could'nt find a link or email for Frank,anyone know? Meantime I'm trying to form one from an inner tube and by golly I think it's gonna work. Used the houseing for a form , a bunch of clothes pins, and heated it with a hair dryer. Cooled it down with ice and it was just a wee bit off. Think it would have been O.K. but I Repeated the process and this time I'm gonna leave it in the freezer a couple days, ANY BETS?

    I think the hex diaphragm actually started around '38.

    what's scary is I was thinking along these lines, but didn't want to be the first to say anything. If nothing else, SamJ has ease of use in mind. I heard those other things can be confusing... :p

    IT WORKED!! My CUSTOM MADE diaphragm is good as anything one could buy. Put the vacume to it and it pulls and returns like a charm. Still would like to get in touch with Frank Meyers . Two heads always better than one and anybody that thinks they know it all has got a lot to learn.
    Gonna send SamJ and the Kid an invitation when I graduate.
