I am talking with a fiberglass shop about making fiberglass running boards for 1941-47 Hudson pickup's. They will be black with ribs in top so rubber mat will not be needed. These will be simular to ones that Headley Bennett had made in Canada several years ago. I need to know how many people are interested in them to offset cost of molds. I will not have estimated price until 5/2, but I need to find out how much of a market there will be. I will also get price on having them sprayed with rubber. If interested, e-mail me dsollon@comcast.net :)

The molds for the running boards are no longer available, so it doesn't look like I am going to have them made. Cost for having new molds made up will make fiberglass running boards almost as expensive as the steel ones that Denton Becker makes. I am ordering a set of his for our 46 HPU. Here are pictures of the boards he sells for 500.00 plus freight.

That picture pretty much says it - That's what the 'bosses' look like on my set that arrived yesterday -

I received my running boards today from Beckers. Well made with good fit. No rubber is needed and all they need is stainless installed on outside edge. I am well pleased and do not think I am going to be having them made in fiberglass, as long as these are available.

    FYI

Mid '80's Olds has a nice long stainless rocker Moulding (about 2 high") that is nearly the perfect to place on the running board sides if you have access to a Wrecking Yard.

I put them on my truck by 'countsinking' a couple bevel stainless screws.
