Saturday,Sept.29th.,2007.I know this is kind of a last minute notice,but better late than never.This show is at Carillon Park in Dayton.The park is located off of Interstate 75 at exit 51.It is on the east side of the interstae and the big Carillon Tower bell is visible from the exit ramp.The Park is full of Historic buildings and is like a mini-Greenfield Village and provides a perfect setting.It will be held from 10am to 3pm.It is open to all discontinued automobiles-Hudson,Studebaker,Packard,Crosley,Nash,Rambler,Willys,etc... It is very easy to find and is a worthwhile trip.If you have any questions about this show,contact Dale @ 513-821-6200.Hope you can attend this show.Let see how many Hudsons can show for this!!:)

Also stay over and see the USAF museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. If you have never been before... make it an all day event!



The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Admission to the museum is FREE. There is a charge for the IMAX Theatre. Please visit www.afmuseum.com or call (937) 253-IMAX for show times and prices.

Those are two of my favorite places to visit when I'm in Dayton.

Was supposed to be there be in two weeks but had to cancel.

Great places to go to even when there's no car show.

This is a great meet at a beautiful park with plenty of shade. I'm going with another Hudson club member, so there will be at least two Hudson's there. The weather is going to be sunny and clear with the temps in the high 70's , so get your Hudson's out, it may be the last time this year. As an added bonus, Orval and Wilbur are always there in the old town at the site. Didn't they drive a Hudson to the airport?

There used to be a great speedway there too. Dayton Speedway High bank half mile asphalt. Almost all of the old indy 500 guys whose name you could prononce raced sprint cars there. I heard it was a land fill now. No dignity anymore.

I went to races there many years ago. Grandstand where pretty bad but racing was great. Speeds were high because it was shaped like a chili bowl!

Yeah Barry, I left Dayton in '71 and the track was already shut down then. At one time, back in the 60's it was known as the fastest paved half mile in the world. Banking was so steep, like Bristol, it was hard to stand on it. Like you said I got to meet a lot of famous racers there. I was in my teens and was totally awed by the people I met there, both the stars and the local guys. Parnelli Jones, Johnny Rutherford, Andy Granatelli and Locals Bob Daniels, Buster Blackford, these guys were my heros. We also went to Eldora Speedway in Rossville.

I remember going to Dayton Speedway when I was a kid and seeing a lot of

'56 Chevys, Fords, and Mercurys racing. It was located on Rt. 4 right next to what is now the Dayton Correctional Institution. The site is all grown over now. Hope to see a lot of Hudsons at The Orphan Show Saturday.
