Let's have a POLL!!!!

Okay, so we know how this usually ends up, but we haven't ad one in a while....

anyway, I am short of motivation, and running out of good weather. I got a car in my driveway that has not moved in some time, and it needs to be completed...

Here's the short end of it...

I have been putting the OD back into my 50 C-6 for some time, since July. Looking for parts, making some bad decision, etc... has led this project that I originally thought would take a weekend to encompass more than two months.

Right now, I got a short list to accomplish, I got a rigged mount on the trans that will not thread off, it is too wide to make the turn. At this point, it will need cut or bent, to make the clearance. I got a few wires to run yet, attach starter, drill a larger hole for the kickdown, reinstall front seat, bench and mounting assembly. attach driveshaft to tranny, etc... a few basic things, before I can call it complete...

So, in all good fun, let's either bet on the KID, or bet against him... got a few choices, where I may be at the end of the day, and you decide.... :p

Have fun, I'll post up the final result of the day, tonight, at 10PM eastern....

  • BTW, i'm starting out with some optimism....
  • I have faith in you!

    I have waited all summer long and did not see one poll from you. I even recall seeing someone bait you just a tiny bit, but you didn't fall for it. You have shown tremendous stregnth in not starting any polls (or stirring anything up) so I know you can harness that pent up energy and finish that project! lol

    Well, I got my daily driver brakes done this morning, even though when I started my floor jack had quit working.

    Maybe it's a good day for getting things done :)
  • I voted mount not out, nothing done. Not because I don't think Hudsonkid can do it, just because it's 2:30 in the afternoon, all I have to do is wash the Hash today, and it's not done yet. I should be out there right now instead of here but I'm not. Hudsonkid, go do your OD.

  • Oh, There's NO doubt whatsoever that Hudsonkid can do it! But, you know how it is to work in the rain...I always hated gettin my feet and ankles wet......
    Shamless Bob.
  • How would I know what it's like to work in the rain, it hasn't rained here in over a year. I'm just fixin the wipers in case I leave California or have to drive past some sprinklers.

  • well, it didn't rain, looked like rain on and off for the day, with a bit of overcast. I ended up having to pull the trans. I could not get the mount out any other way. I wish I had done this weeks ago. Anyway, the mount is out, the trans is sitting in the car, I hurt myself a bit trying to get it back on the pins. So my epic struggle begins, once again, to align the trans, and get it back to where it is supposed to be. I guess at this point, everything will go back together just the same, wiring will be no problem, since now I got it all figured out. All I got to do is to get it mounted once again. I don't know if anyone has a better way, but it just takes so much out of me trying to maneuver it on the pins. I'm starting to think this is not a one person job. I know now why I put the straight stick in last time.
  • Kid;

    you are like to many of us in trying to do at least a two man job by yourself. Do you have a transmission jack? That will make things easier but it will help to have someone on the other side either handing you tools or helping keep things straight. I know nothing about the trans and od so all I can give you is moral support, good luck Kid, it may fall right back together for you.
