Is anyone else having problems downloading the pictures of this car ?? Even if I don't want to buy it, I'd sure like to see the pictures of it, but danged if I can get them to download, except for the first one.

  • Can't get one picture of this car other than the one for the gallery listing. Somebody has to be getting SOMETHING for that kind of money.

If its the same one all I get are RED X's for all the pictures except for the small one on the front of the Ebay add. Ron

Yesterday I got the photos to load for the first time...today they're gone again. Shame you guys can't see it 'cause I'd be really interested in how you'd score its interior and painted black firewall...being a 100 point car.

I saw it this AM, but it's gone now. The way people were bidding on it anyway, I figured that if folks have this kind of money for a stepdown Hudson (that isn't a convertible) they must also have money for far better computer and internet equipment than me.
  • That's strange, clicking the link I posted on Hudsonmotorcar.org still brings up all of the pictures.
  • The guy has the pics hosted on his AOL account, and they only allow a certain amount of views in one day. If you've seen the pics once, you will probably be able to keep seeing them, because they are cached on your hard drive.

I don't look on eBay until later in the day, so I probably won't ever catch a glimpse of this Hudson.
  • IT LOOKS LIKE THE SAME CAR ON WWW.PREWARCAR.COM,IF YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO HERSHEY,THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SOLD BY RM AUCTION THIS WEEKEND.(NO RESERVE)YOU MIGHT GET TO SEE IT OR IT'S TWIN IN THE RAW.
  • Yes, it's the same car.
  • Car sold for $52,100.00. Lots of luck completing the sale, though. The buyer has a (-1) feedback rating!
  • If that car still makes it into the RM auction I will be smelling something fishy.....

Something's already not quite right. Didn't the listing owner say it would be at Barret Jackson in January ? How could that be if he sold it ? Or was he just "testing the waters" so to speak.

Easy to do if you know how.

Maybe if it didn't make reserve I guess.
  • talked to the owner before I left. is reserve was higher than the last e bay bid and he also pulled it from the r m auction as they gave him a spot 9 from the end and they had promised him a prime time spot. now he wants to take it to BARRET JACKSON. BILL ALBRIGHT

Barrett Jackson is probably where it should have been headed all along. No penalty for straying from "authenticity" (the "tribute" cars- ie, fakes- seem to bring as much as the real thing. Everything seems to depend on how nice it looks. But a couple of questions- If you're selling a 50K plus car on ebay, how about using a photo hoster that at least lets everybody see the pictures? And the buyer had a -1 feedback rating- what's up with that? I thought you started at zero.

I guess I'm not getting this. If we had a winning bidder on Ebay, then the car supposed to have sold. If the reserve was higher than the last bid, I would think we would have no "winning bidder". It should state: "Reserve not met".
  • Buyer reneged on a $79,999.00 bid on a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham. Draw your own conclusions.
  • Hey guys, I thought that I paid a fair price for my '52 sedan a few months ago, although it cost a pretty penny. Is this car worth $30,000 more than I forked over? Even if it is a coupe? I DON'T THINK SO!

But then again, an object is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it...no more, no less.

Post some pictures and we'll let you know. :D
  • Without a doubt a very nice restoration and update as has been pointed out. Value? The car is high end... what does that mean... let me see... house worth $XXX,XXX,YYY Hudson worth $ABCDEFG... kinda like the $50 dollar driver coupes that used to be available to "us kids" when gas was 25 cents a gallon... those were the days.... the pictures are really a great value to those who are trying to assemble or understand how things are supposed to be...

Droolin' in HOT... but not givin' the WASP the boot!

    Cheers
  • A top-end resto shop is going to charge you that and more to restore a complete car that doesn't need everything. You'd have to have a solid platform to start with; that's not the cost of rescuing and restoring a rust-bucket!

I agree that this is a well done car, but I think there are a few points of detail that are not correct. I will never own a hudson this nice, but it is nice seeing one restored to this level.

I think that to tout it as a 100 point car, with a bent visor, some paint mistakes (firewall, using this color here, and that color there....) it just seems like the car opens itself up for criticism.

I think this is one of those cars, parked in a field of hudsons would be "over restored". Nice, you bet, can you take it out and drive it, and enjoy it? not as much as I do mine, I bet....

Yeah, I'm sorta drooling for a coupe, but keep mine a few inches in wheelbase shorter.... send me a wasp, or better yet, a pacemaker...

The car looks great with the doors shut, needs door panels and seat work.

Hahh --- that must have been the kid I keep hassling at the auto parts store, making him look for parts that don't exist, on a car they must have never made, because the CAR dosen't even show up in the books, --- never mind the part I want. :-)
  • See; I have Bill Albright 25 miles away, I just tell the parts store get my parts or I'm going to the Hudson dealer, that and they know I pack heat and will shoot back, if you look at my bullet holes they are all exiting the trunk.
