Thanks Paullargetype
got the fuel sending unit and license plate holder today. Thanks a lot for getting them to me so quickly. I put the tank together this evening, sure hope I measured correctly. Question though, the top plate has a tab on it that looks like an electrical connection. Is that for the wire from the gauge? Or does the gauge go to the top of the sending unit and the tab is for a ground. Since the unit was dismantled I don't have anything to go by. I'll look in my service manual and see if I can read the schematic.. Thanks again Paul.

The tab is for a ground wire. The gauge goes to the center post.0

Paul;
the tank is going in this morning, I've missed driving the old girl for the last couple of weeks. It's a great thing this group has going, I'm glad I found it. It's kind of sad one of my fellow members in the CIHET got ripped off by someone on his carb but in any group there are going to be slimeballs. Between you and Bill A though I have been treated great, it makes me really glad I'm a member of HET.
