48 Commodore Heater Core

Can anyone tell me how to remove the heater core? I tried to remove the complete box from the firewall but it won't move. I think the core will come out the bottom if I drill out some rivets. Are these old cores that well built that they don't need repair? Thanks Paul

    Remove the screws in each corner of the blower housing to remove the housing. It will be stuck hard and fast. The screws 1 on each side in center holds the core. It will be stuck tight also or all I have removed have been.
