Hello fellows (and maybe gals). I'm brand new here, (filling out my application to HET in between typing). Picked up a 36 Terraplane that looks good on the outside for 30 feet, but needs a LOT of TLC when you look under and up close. Lovin' it though.

I'll try not to bore you with a lot of questions but I have already developed more than a few!

Can anyone tell me where I can get the horns that go on the fenders?

Also does anyone make the wrap that goes around the leaf springs? And one more....What is the little eye attached to the wiper arm all about, or is this something some owner has attached?

Thanks in advance for any leads and man, I love this coupe!

Welcome on board! As a member of the H-E-T for over 35 years I can tell you that there is probably not a more helpful, friendlier car enthusiast group out there.

One helpful thing would be for you to tell us what part of the country (if you're from the U.S.) you're in. It might be that there are folks with '36's who lives in your area. You could then visit them, see their cars, and perhaps get some of your questions answered. Of course, when you join the Club you'll get a printed roster with the names and addresses of (and cars owned by) all 3500 members, but in the meantime maybe we can aim you towards someone local. Also, be aware that there are over 40 chapters around the U.S. You might want to look up your local one, and become involved in that, as well. Chapter membership is optional, of course.

Welcome aboard from another 36T owner.

Somebody should see your request that knows where a couple of these horns are. Otherwise you're gonna have to make friends with a bull in the pasture.

Might check with your local truck spring shop for the wraps. Some metallic tape maybe?

The eyes on the wipers were for a little arm that made a parallel link with the wiper arm to keep the blades at a better angle supposedly. As Geoff says, they are made of unobtanium. However, Bob Ficken of Ficken Wiper Service sent me a picture of them.
