Looking for shipping suggestions
Hello fellow Hudsonites,
I am in a bit of a dilemma and am looking for suggestions on how to arrange shipping for a Hudson radiator from Yakima in Washington state. I recently won this auction and the person is unwilling to ship the part to me. He said that he specifically stated in the auction that this was a pick up only situation. I have said that I would be willing to pay for all associated charges with packaging and shipping through the UPS Store in his area but he has not answered me thus far and doesn't seem to be willing to be of assistance. Is there any fellow Hudsonite in Washington state near Yakima available to help me out and get this radiator to the UPS store in Yakima. I would normally tell this guy to take a hike but this radiator has been reconditioned and was a good buy. Any other suggestions such as a pick up service etc.?
Thanks,
Glenn Degere

Yeah, find an HET'er in the area whose willing to pick it up and ship it to you.

You're looking at big $ if he drops it off at a UPS store for packing. I bought a set of wheels that way, the seller claimed that it cost $150 to have them box and bubble wrap them. He didn't charge it to me, since he agreed up front to pack them.
Hopefully someone in the area will step up and help out.

Sent you an email with a couple HET members in Yakima that are in the 2005-2007 roster

Get out of the deal diplomatically[both parties agree to mutually withdraw from the transaction]and DO NOT SEND MONEY! If he is being less than helpful now, it won't get any better after you've paid him.
There are other radiators out there. Goodluck. Paul.0 -

I live about 175 miles from Yakima. I was thinking if you wanted to pay for gas I would go and get it and bring it back to Baker City. I could then build a crate for it and call UPS. I am sure what it would cost to build the crate would be a lot cheaper than to have UPS get ready to ship. Let me know what you think. Les0 -
I would not send it by a UPS store their rates are out of this world . I once bought a exhaust pipe from a fellow member for what was to be about $15.00 it ended up being sent by a UPS store with a $45.00 ship charge more than it was worth. If the buyer stated it was pick-up only i think you have a problem holding him to anything. I would not be surprised if it did not cost you $200.00 or so shipping alone besides the cost of the radiator.
from a UPS store. Chuck0
