Off topic - Old project

Not related to Hudsons, but I thought others might find this interesting.

My last project before I got into Hudsons was a 1963 VW camper. It was in terrible shape, setting in a field of old cars when I first saw it. It was overall solid (a GA bus originally), but cosmetically awefull and lots of surface rust. I sold it to make room and $ for the Hudson. I sold it 2.5 years ago. The new owner sent me pictures today- after a complete resto.

Picture 1 - As I bought it

Picture 2 - As I sold it

Picture 3 - As it looks today, after resto

Even though I didn't finish it, I'm glad that I started it enough to pass it on.

Matt

Sorry for the poor picture quality - I was trying to keep the size down.

  • Man, that ole thing brings back memories. I had one back in the day. Flower stickers, big ole smiling sun on the spare tire cover. For some reason I can't even look at the pictures with-out smelling burnin' rope...denver

Thanks Matt. the pics bought back lots of memories! I spent 2.5 years living in the back of one of those in Asia & Africa in the early '70's with the woman I'm still married to. We figured if we could live together in the back of a VW Camper then the rest of our lives would be easy!!LOL
